Powering up for #Empower17

Next weekend kicks off the ASCD National Conference in Anaheim California-- and I for one, am really excited to attend an educator and a presenter. I will participate as a panelist in "Leadership is a TeamSport" with some truly amazing women--all of whom I have never met in person. This fact is poignant; it demonstrates the power of a Professional Learning Network. The topic of leadership and the chall...

There is great disparity amongst all public schools. Suburban schools far much better than inter-city schools in terms of resources and achievement. There is still much work to be done--but don't throw the baby out with the bath water!! Education is still the best neutralizer to poverty. Our public school educate ALL students, regardless of race, economic status, handicaps, religion or language. We don't get to suggest that they would be better suited elsewhere or that we cannot offer the service or resources necessary fo...
